The report says that they expect to make further arrests in this episode soon. The question remains whether the players will be arrested for playing at the online casino café or whether the charges will be aimed at the operators of the venue.

Not much is known at this stage about the raids, which was reported about in the local press. The nature of the charges to be laid in the online casino raid, and whether the players or workers will soon be released is unclear. The authorities themselves have not released an official statement yet. The Ministry of Justice in Japan did issue a short statement, however, saying that this was the first type of operation against an offshore online casino gambling location in Japan.

The staff at the online casino café told the press that there was no reason to worry about the legality, because the server was located outside of Japan.
