College students are flocking to the biggest rave in town. Is it a hot new pub? A trendy discotheque? A private club? The answer is no, no and no again. College students have picked up on the newest trend in the country, online casino gambling and they are giving it all they have. Online casino poker, especially, is being played on campuses and in dorms all over the country. Statistics show that over a quarter of college men play online casino games at least once a month. College players report that they are pleased with the fact that online casino games can be played from the privacy of their own residences and that they can choose to play against anyone they choose. Playing at an online casino allows them to access a great form of entertainment at the click of a button, without having to travel out of their rooms. Online gambling also acted as a form of stress relief during tough years.
Not everybody is happy about the fact that college kids are playing more online casino games than ever before. Psychologists are worried that too many online casino games could lead to addiction and other social problems such as drug and alcohol abuse. It remains to be seen with time whether these fears are justified.
